I just updated the theme to where everyone’s posts don’t just run together (now there’s a quaint little divide between each post so it doesn’t get confusing where one post ends and another begins).
Also, tonight or tomorrow I’m going to work on the html some more to make it to where each post on the main page has the person who posted it’s username or photo beside it so that we can tell who posts what when we’re not on our Dashboards.
My simple reasoning for not liking it is because of the word Tumble…
On April Fools Day the Tumblr main logo image was changed to where it said “tumbler.”…. and everyone hated it, myself included (granted it WAS funny, but it was just sooooo wrong after having owned a Tumblr for a good little while before). And I’m not saying the name Nashville Tumbles was stupid at all, because it really wasn’t, but you’d be surprised how many people post about other people posting the name “tumblr” as “tumbler”… basically, I just think that name made it look like we don’t know what tumblogs are about, when in all reality we do (because I’m pretty sure we’re all equally addicted to the little fuckers.)
Plus, the word “Tumble” just seems so wrong to me nowadays :)
You are a fag. Grand Ole’ Tumbly?
But I did like Nashville Tumbles, too. It brought to mind the image of short fat kids (like myself) falling over, which never fails to make me giggle. And yes. The layout is pretty.
damnit, I liked Nashville Tumbles. How about….Tumbleweed? No? Tumblin’ Nashvegas? Grand Ole’ Tumbly? Music City…hmm, seems a little generic. I do like the layout though.
By the way, in case you didn’t know… our own Nashville Predators beat the Detroit Red Wings at the Sommet Center last night to tie up their Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoff Series 2-2. Go Preds!
I made the layout look a bit better and decided to change the name from “NashvilleTumbles” to “MusicCity” (1. Because the name “Tumbles” was just plain annoying to me and 2. Because hell, Nashville is Music City). So now the group’s new url is musiccity.tumblr.com
So now I think Justin and I (the admins) are going to start really inviting people to the group (as long as Justin sees the new layout and doesn’t think it looks like a piece of trash) and then we can have our own little local Tumblr community to do whatever the hell we all want with it.
I plan on tidying up this layout.
P.S. - I was surprised to see that we actually have a small handful of members now, that’s awesome. If you know any other people in the Nashville-ish area with Tumblrs be sure to tell them about the group.
